Rides
The Ride program is the first and core program offered by Neighbor to Neighbor. We match local volunteer drivers with older adults and/or disabled individuals who need a ride. Whether it’s a ride to the doctor or barber shop, to pick up prescriptions or groceries, our volunteers are here to help sure that our neighbors not only have access to have their critical health needs met, but also to have their social and emotional needs met as well.
I need a ride!
You can request a ride from an N2N volunteer if you are:
- Actively enrolled in our program
- Between the ages 21-59 with qualified medical appointments and are unable to drive yourself
- Age 55 and over and need medical or quality of life appointments and unable to drive yourself
- Live within Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg counties in South Carolina
- Live in Brunswick County, North Carolina
- Are able to walk on your own or with a cane or walker (Unfortunately, volunteers cannot transport wheelchairs or provide assistance with passengers who need wheelchairs.)

We’re so glad you want to volunteer! You qualify to drive if you:
- Are at 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license
- Pass a criminal background check
- Have a vehicle with valid insurance
- Pass a driver record check
- Participate in New Volunteer Orientation and Training
