Dr. Arthur “Doc” Liberty, DSc, MS, JD —Currently enjoying retirement, he was an adjunct professor in the HealthcareEmergency Management master’s degree program at Boston University School ofMedicine. Previously an adjunct full professor in the Homeland SecurityManagement and Emergency Management master’s degree programs at University ofMaryland University College. Served as Assistant Managing Editor of the Journal ofHomeland Security and Emergency Management.Dr. Liberty retired in January 2017 following 20 years as a U.S. AdministrativeLaw Judge and judicial executive (chief judge) and five years as a federal prosecutor. Before law school, Dr. Liberty held positions in federal and city law enforcement and as a trauma and critical care nurse and paramedic. He is an8-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and of 2 years in the California Army NationalGuard. Dr. Liberty currently volunteers with the Brunswick County Sheriff’sOffice and the Southport Fire Department and serves as a director on the boards of several non-profit charities.
